Avalanche rescuing training
DVA 1: Deal with a simple avalanche rescue
Level: beginner to intermediary • 8 participants max • Half-day training
Training fare: 25 €/person
Includes an educational booklet

Being able to lead alone a search and the excavating of a victim

Being able to efficiently participate in a group search organized by a leader
After the training you will be able to:
-
Efficiently carry and use your equipment;
-
Participate in the Send/Search test mode with the group;
-
Use the elementary functions of your avalanche beacon;
-
Deploy basic actions in case of an accident;
-
Alert mountain rescue;
-
Efficiently search and localize a buried victim in a simple scenario;
-
Excavate a victim using a specific technic.
Snowshoeing session
Dealing with the risk of an avalanche in a snowshoeing hike
Level: beginner to intermediary • 8 participants max • One-day training
Training fare: 70 €/person
Includes an educational booklet

Gain the basic knowledge regarding avalanche risk during a snowshoeing hike: snow science, practice and security over a snow-covered terrain.
After the training you will be able to:

Analyze the avalanche risk estimation bulletin;
-
Detect the unfavorable snow and weather conditions;
-
Observe and analyze the different surface states of the snow mantle;
-
Read and interpret the unfavorable terrain clues;
-
Evaluate the stability of the snow mantle from a simple tool;
-
Use simple progression strategies on a snow-covered terrain;
-
Communicate information and basic instruction with the group.
